General Statement

In our many years of clinical experience, we have found that acupuncture and its associated therapies can help relieve signs and symptoms associated with almost any condition. Treatment can help improve general wellbeing and the physical and emotional consequences of illness and injury.

Even where research is lacking if you have the time and resources, it would be well worth trying acupuncture and its associated therapies, we can often help.

We pledge to be always open and honest, if for any reason after a consultation we feel that we are unable to help, or you choose not to have treatment, then we will not charge you.

If you have any questions at all please call or contact Austin or Sarah.

Acupuncture & Peripheral Neuropathy

Don't let peripheral neuropathy control your life. Explore acupuncture as a treatment option. Research supports acupuncture’s effectiveness in reducing pain and numbness associated with peripheral neuropathy, regardless of the underlying cause. Acupuncture has been shown to improve nerve damage in peripheral neuropathy. Nerve conduction tests confirm these findings, challenging the long-held belief that peripheral neuropathy nerve damage is irreversible. This discovery marks a significant advancement in peripheral neuropathy treatment.94

Acupuncture Proven to Aid Nerve Regeneration in Diabetic Neuropathy

The ACUDIN trial provides compelling evidence that acupuncture can stimulate nerve regeneration in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This landmark study, published in the Journal of Diabetes, highlights acupuncture as a viable treatment option for managing nerve damage in type 2 diabetes.

Acupuncture Reduces Diabetic Numbness

A 2023 study in the World Journal of Diabetes highlights acupuncture's effectiveness in reducing numbness and sensory loss in diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). The study reports a significant 32% reduction in numbness over 8 to 16 weeks. This novel approach emphasizes the importance of sensory improvement in preventing complications like gait disorders and diabetic foot. The findings show that repetitive acupuncture treatments are well-tolerated and lead to high patient satisfaction, addressing symptoms that current medications cannot.

Acupuncture Found to Regenerate Damaged Sensory Nerves

Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). In 2022, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) released a guideline titled “Integrative Medicine for Pain Management in Oncology” with the recommendation that acupuncture may be offered to patients with CIPN.

Since the time of that recommendation several newer studies have found acupuncture to be effective for CIPN. One important study used nerve conduction testing as the primary measurement and found acupuncture regenerated damaged sensory nerves that cause pain and numbness:  “Results: Sural sensory nerve amplitude, and sural nerve conduction velocity, were significantly improved.”
